About this piece
Small Jade Adze Necklace
Size (mm): 12 W x 35 H
This jade necklace is a beautiful piece of Maori jewellery. Carved from genuine Nephrite Jade. Makes a wonderful Kiwiana gift or NZ souvenir. This Maori necklace is strung on a braided traditional black wax cord. The height that the pendant hangs at can be adjusted using the sliding knots. Supplied loose in a plastic sleeve. As each piece is individually carved slight variations can occur.
The Adze or Toki symbolizes strength as it represents the traditional Maori tool, whose blade had to be strong so as not to break when used.
